Your score may have dropped because credit providers in Australia are now beginning to provide additional information to Credit Reporting Bodies (CRBs) in what is known as Comprehensive Credit Reporting (CCR).
The new categories of information included in your credit file under Comprehensive Credit Reporting include repayment history information and account information.
At this point in time ANZ, National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, St.George, Bank of Melbourne, BankSA, Bankwest, HSBC, Citibank, and Latitude are the only major credit providers that submit CCR information for their credit cards and personal loan products to Experian.
Your credit score is calculated by Experian, one of Australia's official CRBs and the addition of this data relating to unsecured credit may have caused your score to change.
We suggest you keep monitoring your credit score as it is quite likely that with the addition of new information and repayment data over the coming months your score will move again.
If you have any questions or concerns about how your credit score is calculated, please feel free to get in contact with Experian directly:
